Pay it Forward - People!

A few years ago I saw a profound little movie called "pay it forward" which was about a little boy who ran into a person who did a good deed for him and he was obligated to do a good deed for another person even if it was a perfect stranger? That movie was a very special movie to me, because it showed random acts for kindness from one person to the next. I've always been a helping stranger type of person but after seeing that movie I became more conscious towards helping my fellow man/woman if… Continue

What Were Some of Your Memories of the 70's Music?

What were your memories of the 70's?

I was born in 1966.

In the early 70's I attended the American School of Brasilia, Brazil and was exposed to Led Zeppelin, AC DC, Kiss, etc... , however, I had an uncle who listened to Jazz and I will never forget when I first heard Billie Holidays' voice. It enveloped me and I was smitten.

There were a few records I had as a 10 year old and I remember The Commodores' "Easy", 1977 and 1978 "Three Times a Lady" song which I… Continue

A CRITICAL JUNCTURE FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS - A Road Map Toward Solution...

"The slavery that captures the mind and imprisons the motivation, perception, aspiration and identity in a web of anti-self images, generating a personal and collective self-destruction, is more cruel than the shackles on the wrists and ankles. The slavery that feeds the mind, invading the soul of man, destroying his loyalties to himself and establishing allegiance to forces which destroy him, is an even worse form of capture." -- Dr. Naim Akbar (1996)

"This is a critical juncture in… Continue
