Bob Thomas said… RE: "SPACE SHUTTLE PARADE(?)" How can the destruction of our beautiful and irreplaceable trees warrant a celebration??? I recently signed petition OPPOSING this.....I wish I could post photos of the really MAGNIFICENT TREES they will cut down. I TOTALLY OPPOSE THIS RAPE OF OUR COMMUNITY'S MEAGER RESOURCES!!!! Now then, when the shuttle was taken to its lift-off location, it was positioned in a VERTICAL MANNER. That way, the wings are NOT HORIZONTAL and should NOT require the destruction of OUR TREES on its path to the museum. THEY(?) had originally proposed going down LEIMERT BL. where the stately pines form a natural green tunnel. At least SOMEONE saw how stupid that would be....WHERE THE HELL ARE OUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES AT ALL LEVELS WHEN WE NEED THEM........FIGHT BACK EVERYONE!!!

I am glad you had a chance to stop by CAAM last night, however I was not there. I love Leimert Park Beat, it is a great platform for community events and I will continue to share them with your viewers. I will upload a photo this weekend, and the next time you visit CAAM let me know so I can formally introduce myself. Thanks again, love the site and the work you do!!!

Thanks for being so dedicated to the ongoing success of LPB. You are a prince among men who makes a real difference in our community. Keep up the good work. We need to have a meeting in the coming weeks so we can get some of the issues we face to the surface. More to come when we meet in the coming weeks. Take care

I heard the most amazing speech this morning in the most trying of times.
So many things I've been thinking about were coalesced.
Deval Patrick, speaking in the aftermath of a tragedy that shakes us to our core, becomes a messenger of unity so strong that it evens transcends religion.
"How very strange that the cowardice unleashed on us should…

The 32nd annual Kingdom Day Parade 2013 is SATURDAY Jan. 19, 2013. That seems an odd date but perhaps more fun to have on Saturday rather than Monday (MLK's birthday is Jan. 15).
The “Kingdom Day Parade” starts at Western heads down King to…
