USC reseach into online communities

For the past three years, I have been taking classes at night in order to get my master's of communication at the University of Southern California, where I also work.

As a matter of fact, I created LeimertParkBeat.com as part of a final project in the first class I took in 2007 with Professor Elizabeth Osder, who had worked at Yahoo, New York Times and others.

I am one class away from my degree. But first I need to finish a research paper for my sociology class with Professor… Continue

Goodmon fighting in concert with Cheviot Hills for safer Expo Line

Fix Expo leader Damien Goodmon keeps on fighting - this week in support of Cheviot Hills and Westwood.

He says just because at-grade crossings were forced upon the communities of color from Leimert Park to University Park doesn't mean that anyone should consider this the new standard to justify putting at-grade crossings in the more affluent and whiter areas closer to the beach.…

Kennedy, whose dusty portraits can still be seen in kitchens and barbershops and alongside the antique beer cans at bars like Manuel’s Tavern in Atlanta, has a presidency so fanned the flames of painterly ardor among hobbyist and professional artists," reports Randy Kennedy in the… Continue
