Yes your right I do need to contact APLA and I am going to send them an email or call first thing tomorrow morning. Thank you so much for all your advise and insight. Your guiding me in the right direction and I am very thankful!

Oh, ok. I think when you decide on a 'target-date' your fundraising and hosting efforts might be easier.

 

Establishing the public relations co-operation relationships w/sponsors that can be of value to your event will take some out-reach on your part. They are going to want to know a target that can fit into their budgets.

 

APLA-AIDS Project Los Angeles sounds like a great organization to make contact with first. Give them your project idea and see what insights they can share that will add value to your event.  God Speed... -_-*

Well, I am not really sure yet. See I am hoping to get some assistance from APLA-AIDS Project Los Angeles. They provide free HIV testing. I was hoping I could get them to come out to leimert park. I not only want this to be a fundraising event-I want to be able to provide free HIV testing and information on HIV awareness and prevention. I was thinking sometime in September because AIDS Walk L.A is in October. Mavricks Flat / The Sentinel / Crenshaw Mall / Rave Theaters / Wal-Mart /... W/O knowing what lead time you have? The PublicRelations personnel from these suggestions may be helpful.

I think you're idea is a great one, and should have overwhelming support from our business community.

Did you try Maverick's Flat on Crenshaw? They have several meeting places, inside and outside. Stop by there and ask them.
