Hi AJ,

Thanks for reading and showing interest in the piece.

Here's a reply from CBM's managing editor, Regina Wilson:-

"CBM is not for or against it-- just watching to see how this will hurt or help our students-- right now I think it will hurt them in districts where parents are not involved."

Thank you, AJea.

I look forward to getting to know you as well. I have a feeling we're in for a very interesting political season. I can hear the MLK-like quiver in Obama's voice, so campaign season must be upon us. It will be interesting to see if his rousing oratory going to become a liability for him this time around - it might just remind people of how thery were bamboozled during the last campaign.

AJea - OMG - you are taking students to China on an exchange trip! I invite and encourage you to be a guest blogger while you are way and when you return (as well as your students). This is something people should know about - and we are so proud that you're from Crenshaw High. Please consider sharing the story when you can - short observations and a photo would be great (I don't know if I'll ever get to China!). http://www.leimertparkbeat.com/profiles/blog/new. Let me know if i can help!
