Nighttime Civil Work Continues at Park Mesa Heights for Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project
As part of the ongoing construction on the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro’s contractor Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) has closed the northbound frontage road on Crenshaw Boulevard between 48th and 50th streets to vehicle traffic and on-street parking from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the days listed below. The closure is expected to be completed by Monday, Dec. 19.
The work will be done in phases and includes demolition and replacement of the existing sidewalk, curb, gutter, roadway and the frontage median island.
Secure and lighted temporary parking is being provided on the southeast corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and 50th Street.
Weekend Work Activities
Phase 1:
From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 2 through Dec. 5
•Closure of northbound number 2 and 3 lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard from 50th to 48th streets.
•Sidewalk closure from 50th to 48th streets.
•Full 50th Street closure from 11th Avenue to Crenshaw Boulevard.
•Full Frontage road closure from 50th to 48th streets.
Phase 2:
From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 9 through Dec. 12
•Closure of northbound number 2 and 3 lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard from 50th to 48th streets.
•Sidewalk closure from 50th to 48th streets.
•Full frontage road closure from 50th to 48th streets.
Phase 3:
From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 16 through Dec. 19
•Closure of northbound number 2 and 3 lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard from 50th to 48th streets.
•Full 48th street closure from 11th Avenue to Crenshaw Boulevard.
•Sidewalk closure from 50th to 48th street.
•Full frontage road closure from 50th to 48th streets.
Phase 4:
From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 16 through Dec. 19
•Closure of northbound left turn pocket and number 1 lane on Crenshaw Boulevard from 50th to 48th streets.
•Full 48th street closure from 11th Avenue to Crenshaw Boulevard.
•Sidewalk closure from 50th to 48th street.
•Full frontage road closure from 50th to 48th street.
Phase 3 and phase 4:
Northbound Crenshaw Boulevard will be open to one lane of travel at all times.
