Upcoming nighttime I-405 lane closures for Crenshaw/LAX Line construction to start July 31

Fifteen nights of full and partial closures on the I-405 freeway will begin Monday, July 31, to accommodate construction of a bridge for the Crenshaw/LAX Line light rail project. The work is being done by Walsh Shea Corridor Constructors, the contractor building the project for Metro.

Civil Work Improvements on Crenshaw Boulevard between 52nd and 54th streets

             As part of the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project, Metro is completely rebuilding the curb, gutter and sidewalk on Crenshaw Boulevard between 52nd and 54th streets beginning Monday, June 27, with work through Monday, July 18.

Crenshaw/LAX project reconfiguration of Victoria Avenue begins today Friday, March 18

Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will close Victoria Avenue to traffic between 67th Street and 71st Street beginning Friday, March 18, for the upcoming “cut & cover” operation necessary to support construction for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project.

Upon completion of the work, Victoria Ave. north of the right-of-way will become a cul-de-sac and south of the railroad tracks will lead to a new city street that runs parallel to the new Crenshaw/LAX light-rail line.

And the Crenshaw/LAX Line’s tunnel boring machine’s name is….Harriet, as in Harriet Tubman, the former slave and key player in the so-called underground railroad that helped slaves escape the south for the north.
