I really hope they can get that area back up and revitalized. I remember shopping over there as a child when it used to be Santa Barbara Plaza,, to this day I still catch myself. I miss Woolworths lunch counter and Sylvia Stephens and Lerners. I used to wait for my parents in the parking lot sometimes and wonder how boring it must be for the men high in the parking booths to watch cars all day.
I really hope that when the developers come in the look at the need for quality businesses and the current economic situation. We still have a high unemployment rate, so I hope they will recruit within the area first, for both entry level and managerial positions. We need to be able to have a job/careers in the community instead of having to drive out of the area for employment.
Not forgetting to mention we can get rid of that eye sore.
