SLO Sasajima is LAPD Senior Lead Officer Sunny Sasajima. He's been our neighborhood police office for several years now and spends many of his Saturdays educating the block clubs in our areas about crime and how to prevent it. I really appreciate his efforts. I'm sure he could talk at your club or gathering. Please contact either of us to make that connection.

Yes indeed, please report activity immediately and don't assume that "somebody else will do it".

For emergencies, call 9-1-1, preferably from a landline, if possible, rather than cell phone.  This is for two reasons...(1) Cell phone calls get routed through CHP and may delay getting through to an LAPD or LAFD dispatcher. (2) Your landline call should display the address you're calling from, which is useful in the event you get disconnect.

For non emergencies (non life threatening,no risk of harm to persons, not a crime in currently progress...) please utilize the 1-877-ASK-LAPD (275-5273).

Remember, when calling to report a crime or suspicious activities/persons, please be sure to provide the dispatcher with a description (sex, ethnicity, clothing, hair style, tattoos...etc), location/direction of travel, vehicle description (license plates, color, make, model), and any other information officers will need to find the suspects.
