FELA! comes to town - last performances this weekend!!!
FELA! is the Broadway play that's coming to The Ahmanson theater at the Music Center. It was sold out in NYC for 2 years, and won 3 of the 11 Tony awards it was nominated for. In an effort to put butts in seats, the Center Theater Group is offering $39.00 tickets ($49.00 on Saturday/Sunday). The show was glorious. When the Vision Theatre reopens, it should come back and play there. The music... The dancing... WOW!
I was sad to see empty seats in front of me. And it would have been nice to see more of my people there. But we're so spoiled in Los Angeles -- both the Lakers/Clippers game and Gladys Knight were going on at the same time downtown. Too much good stuff.

What a great show - highly recommended. The band was fantastic - and what a story. Can't wait for the Vision to open and have show like this here in Leimert Park. It was sold out last week!
