Great! Walter Melton and Ernie Mixon were also interested. I'll set up a meeting so we can move forward. Very exciting to work on an important piece about Leimert Park when the writers will be from Leimert Park.

For now, it's most important to tell people you are working on the piece because we need first hand accounts from people in the area who can talk about and provide photos of Santa Barbara Plaza and Marlton Square, both from today's perspective and from years and years ago.

That will provide the context and the foundation for the investigation piece that include talking to city officials, business people and digging up the documents.

We can't have too many people involved, and no contribution is too small.

The Leimert Park Art and Music Festival is one we know and love.

Please give us the latest info on the special guests and entertainment.

We had a lovely report in the form of a poem and Leimert Park Beat members submitted hundreds of photos to chronicle the event.

We're excited to know more in advance this year.
