They actually told you? I called my PD about a helicopter and all she told me was "They're probably looking for someone." Okay...I'll just stay inside until they're done then. :)

213-485-2600 - this number isn't just the police, it's the command center for the helicopter so they know exactly what's going on.

Now if we could only get them to buy a quieter copter.

What a loud noise they make at night in neighborhoods all over the city. I wonder do they circle homes in the W. Los Angeles area of the city as much as ours. That would be a interesting question to submit to our Councilman Bernard Parks?

9:58 - Aug. 20 - The operator said that she heard and Officer Help call got out. Perhaps there was a robbery and they are in a foot pursuit of the suspect. So close your sliding glass door and lock the doors. He could be running through the yards.

Thanks for posting this. Sometimes it’s the smallest bit of information that goes the furthest. I will now put this phone number 213-485-2600 on speed dial, that way I’ll always be abreast of why they are up there and not just angry because they are up there :)
