BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- FACT: 1 – 2% of Americans suffer from some sort of an eating disorder. FACT: 4% of college-age women suffer from an eating disorder. FACT: While eating disorders are most common among adolescents and young adults in their twenties, children as young as six years old have been diagnosed with eating disorders. FACT: About 20% of those with eating disorders that do not receive treatment will die from the condition.

Established by Joi Hall; a Holistic Self-Empowerment Youth Activist, Motivational Speaker, Wellness/Lifestyle Coach and Radio Host on, "Talking With Truth", Empowered By Joi is campaigning to bring more public awareness and solutions to the alarming statistics relating to youth eating disorders, and self-image problems.

"Eating disorders have many stigmas.....almost half of America's kids are dieting and in jeopardy of this mental illness that ravages their mind, body, and spirit. We look to bring awareness and solutions and raise funds to bring our campaign to schools, organizations and more,” states Hall.

Dying To Be Thin Youth Eating Disorder Awareness Red Carpet Gala Mixer will host performances by Glenn Leonard, the former lead singer of The Temptations, as well as 12-year-old music artist Malachi. Other celebrity and athlete appearances include Darcel, lead dancer of the Hit TV Show Solid Gold, WBFF Pro Fitness competitor Julia Parish, IBFF Fitness Competitor Traci Lynn Franco, Ms. Norway 2014, Kim Mackenzie, R&B Artist Aja Edwards, entertainer Jerome Powell, music artists, ChrystalChyna and comedian Six Foota Slimm.
