The Floricanto Center for the Performing Arts celebrates its 2nd annual Dia del Niño on Saturday, April 30th, 2016. This celebration is inspired by Mexico’s annual Dia del Niiño Celbration. Inspired by this holiday, Floricanto has created this event that celebrates the children of Los Angeles through the Arts. Youth ensembles from throughout the city of Los Angeles will be featured for this event. It will take place at 1:00 pm. at the Floricanto Center for the Performing Arts The Center is located at 4232 Whiteside Street, Los Angeles, CA 90063. Tickets are $4 pre sale and $ 1 for children ages 3 to 11 years old. Children’s tickets can only be purchased at the door. To purchase tickets please go to: http://www.danzafloricantousa.com/store.php . For more information, please call us at 323-261-0385.
The holiday has been commemorated in Mexico on that same date since 1925 as a celebration of the Children’s Rights Declaration by then Mexican President Alvaro Obregon and then Minister of Education José Vasconcelos. It is primarily celebrated in schools. And every school in Mexico celebrates the natural resource that children represent. In that spirit, Floricanto has invited the Kawalea Polynesian Children’s Dance Group, the children of Kayamanan Ng Lahi, Tierra Blanca, the Lula Washington Youth Dance Ensemble along with The Floricanto Institute and Sandino Flores to participate and perform in Floricanto’s 2nd Annual Día del Niño.
This joyful production is the perfect family choice for celebrating our city's multi-faceted heritage. Bring your mom, your dad, your children and grandchildren and make this one of your own traditions in Southern California.
