"On Sunday, March 6th at 2 p.m., the Mayme A. Clayton
Library & Museum, at 4130 Overland Avenue in Culver City, will host a closing
reception for Touching Bass, a unique photo exhibit by Sammy Davis.
These poignant images feature several world-class bassists, including Trevor
Ware, Jennifer Leitham, Henry Franklin, Richard Simon, James Leary, Roberto Miranda,
Nedra Wheeler, John B. Williams, Mike Alvidrez, Luther Hughes and John Heard."
"Commercial and fine art photographer, Sammy Davis, shares his inspiration for this
passion project. “Imagine an elite gathering of gifted virtuosos in a single room. Through
my lens, I’ve had the distinct honor of capturing the unique technique and persona of
each artist. My intent is to create an acoustic ambiance.”
"We are very proud and extremely honored to carry the torch", said Executive
Director Lloyd Clayton. The MCLM, collects, preserves, exhibits and celebrates,
the vast history and cultural heritage of Americans of African descent." - Jeffrey Winston
