2011/04/10 Update: Sam has been adopted at the animal shelter by a family. Privacy laws prohibit the release of information, so we don't know who took him, but we're happy that this handsome canine seems to have found a good home.
Thankfully the animal shelter requires that all dogs are licensed, neutered and ID chips inserted prior to any adoption.
--------------------
Date found: Sunday, April 3, 2011.
Breed: German Shepard
Weight: 75lbs
Color: Black and Tan
Gender: Male, unneutered

Animal Shelter ID: A1200378
We've called him Sam for no other reason than it seems to fit. This gentle & friendly male German Shepard, was wandering on Roxton Ave in Leimert Park (zip 90008) with no collar. Came right up to us when called, tail wagging, ready to give a friendly lick. We own two dogs, and Sam exhibited the same behavior with them: gentle, curious, friendly, with no aggressive behavior. Clearly this big guy loves people and dogs, and is used to being part of a big loving family.
There was no ID chip. Sam will be available for adoption Friday, April 8 if no one claims him. For more information contact Animal Services. Animal ID: A1200378
