An Essay by Ernie Mixon
Whoa, that's a loaded question huh?
Well life to me is the sum total of your existence on earth, the day your born to the day yourdie. It's called your life line (Alpha ______________________ Omega). It's actually a real short journey for mankind, considering our Earth is millions of years old. What really matters in your life is what you do with your short life line on Earth. You can waste it and have no significant value for yourself or mankind or you can make your life worth the time you have been granted. Well what is significant depends on the individual and what you contribute. Your first real contribution to me, is what you do to add value to your life i.e. what you do to contribute to the overall good on Earth. That usually revolves around your work or rather career. Is it something that you have passion about or is it just to pay the bills? People who have careers that they are passionate about appear to be the happiest in their lives. The second is the next generation you leave on earth with your genes i.e. your children. Have you prepared them for life and the contributions they must make also with their short timelines? The Third to me, is your total contribution and whether it will be a better place because you were there. In the end... you will be forgotton as the ages goes one and no one will really care? That sounds harsh? but true on many levels. Only those who have made historic contributions to mankind will have any place in history .... the rest of us will fade into the dust of timelines.
So be beware of your short time line granted to each of us. Live life to the fullest, as if it would be no tomorrow, because today or tonight could be your last day on Earth. I m not trying to bring anyone down ... but rather reminding all of us how short human life is, therefore Live a good life .. make your count while you have it.
What is Life to you?
