Event Description

Experience the rich heritage of the spoken word tradition with WOMEN’S VOICES, an  ensemble group of storytellers, as they present a concert titled "YES MOTHER!" that is sure to entertain. Come and "eavesdrop" on this colorful group of long-term friends as they gather on the front porch to sample a new cookie recipe and reminisce about past holidays, and to enjoy the much needed break between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They remember that Mother was always the center of celebrations, but only realized how hard she had worked when they become mothers themselves. You will feel transported as Gwendolyn Chambers, Laura Duncan, Marion Hinton, Barbara Hunter, Roylene Walker and Barbara White  present stories that celebrate their lives and memories.

You can buy tickets online: http://wvyesmother.eventbrite.com , or by visiting our website: http://www.imalosangeles.com. You may also pay by cash, check or credit card, at the IMA office, while supplies last.  As is our custom at the Institute of Musical Arts, a catered reception will follow the performance.
