Internationally acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, bandleader, and author Michael Wolff performs with his trio at Los Angeles' newest jazz club, Sam First, located at 6171 West Century Boulevard, Thursday, August 3 in two live sets at 7:30 and 9:00 PM. Wolff plays tunes from his new album, “Memoir” inspired from his own book, On That Note, published last year about life as a musician as well as someone with Tourette syndrome, and his victorious battle from a rare and previously untreatable cancer. Michael Wolff’s recording debut began with Cal Tjader in the mid 70’s and continued playing and recording with great jazz legends like Flora Purim, Cannonball Adderley, Nancy Wilson, Sonny Rollins and the film and television composer-musician Mark Isham. Wolff has released over 21 albums to critical and popular acclaim, written award-winning scores for film and television, and his career includes musical director on the groundbreaking Arsenio Hall Show.
