Event Description
DJs spinning, rhymers rappin and poets of the spoken word combine with traditional artists and the legendary drum circle every last Sunday of the month for the Leimert Park Art Walk. It's getting bigger and bigger every month!
A Flourishing Community Produces Monthly Art Walk in Leimert Park
LOS ANGELES, CA- In the heart of Leimert Park thrives a group of community business members with a passion to develop an event rooted in the foundations of culture, art, music and community. In the summer of 2010, the neighborhood organization hosted by Ben Caldwell of the Kaos Network birthed the Leimert Park Art Walk through the incubator meeting. The Art Walk takes place every last Sunday of the month along the streets of 43rd Place and Degnan Blvd from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM. This free event features an array of entertainment and activities for children and adults alike.
Throughout the day cultural spaces (KAOS Network, Vision Theatre, World Stage, and prolific arts), artist studios and storefronts will share art exhibitions, music, fashion, food, drumming, spoken word and local shopping

Come on down and get a good laugh for FREE! We’ve got another awesome line up of Family Friendly comedians and you don’t want to miss this, we have been bringing the funny and giving away free stuff at every show!

Had a great time at the Art Walk today. Even had a couple of black eyed peas & Collard Green tacos while watching Wadada perform on the corner of 43rd & Degnan. Got to see some great art and awesome peeps at he vision, Kaos Network, World Stage and more, all were grooving in the spirit of the affair! Overall it was a great event, in spite of the threat of rain which never poured nor sprinkled.

I spoke with Ben about me hosting a comedy stage at this event. I better get on it right away….time is of essence. I’ll show up either way and support this awesome and much needed energy. I was at the last one and it was such a great feeling to see life pumped back into the Village!
