This documentary tells the story of how the young people of Birmingham, Alabama braved fire hoses and police dogs in 1963 and brought segregation to its knees. Their heroism helped compel President John F. Kennedy to introduce the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a key piece of federal legislation that transformed not just the South but the entire nation. Produced by Hudson & Hudson for Teaching Tolerance. CAAM is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA 90037. For more information visit www.caamuseum.org or call (213) 744-7432.
