This is the day I happened upon Sonny's Spot in Leimert Park Village. It had an incredibly creative ambiance. I hope this video allows me to share with you what I felt that day. Sadly it is no longer there.

That is such a beautiful sound. Thanks Ernie. I saw Michael Franks live in the 80's and I have to say over 2 decades later his music is still a pure joy to listen to. What a great mellow sound those musicians produce. cj

- So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
- I am a native of Los Angeles. As a teenager I was one of those kids who used to enjoy a cruise in his car with friends Friday and Saturday nights. Our destinations Sunset blvd or Crenshaw blvd.Our goal check out other cars and meet girls. It was always a lot of fun. As an adult I noticed the development of a creative area off Crenshaw, Leimert Park Village What I discovered is, it's always a lot of fun. I love to enjoy the culture here.
