So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I own a business that provides tours of Los Angeles. This company is different because we provide tours of south Los Angeles, Watts and Compton as well as other areas of the city. As well as a native of Los Angeles and amateur historian I enjoy exploring around town. Finding this site is great because I can keep up with what's going on in the village for without always needing to drive over. I like to be involved with other communities as well as the one I live in.

But I'm talking specifically about the state holiday that takes place each year on the third Saturday in June ever since Governor Gray Davis signed into law Assembly Bill 1749 in 2002 and Senate Bill 812 in 2003. What? You need a hint? Okay..."They" say that on this day the appropriate thing to eat is barbeque and red soda water.…

My Reason To Relay

Posted on May 23, 2013 at 12:08am 0 Comments

Like most of us, I know too many people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Quite frankly I believe that cancer is big business which is why in all this time scientists and doctors have not come up with a cure. In the meantime I've started participating in the annual Relay for Life event.

They are held in communties across the United States. I will be participating in the Baldwin Hills Relay For Life…
