I think that tactic throws out the baby with the bathwater.  Chase the criminals away but you have to endure the environment sounding like Iraq.  Noise levels affect the well-being of a community, as well as it's property values. Using helicopters as a crime suppressant on a continuous or daily basis NOT an attractive marketing feature for home sales.

I totally agree with you Berti. I worry that the LAPD uses the noise as a crime supressent - but it affects us all.

I grew up hearing this basically every day or night. When we would go on vacation to our family in the South, I would get annoyed with hearing the crickets, and when my family from the south would visit us, they would get annoyed with hearing the helicopter flying or hovering over our heads. When you go to other Cities or States that do not have this type of noise or interruption, you tend to feel more at ease and carefree.
