Broom Man dies at 91 we'll miss him
The Broom Man left this life this week. Many of us will have to figure out another way to buy a broom. The blind Rev. Livingston Wills walked Omaha streets peddling brooms for over 55 years. Our offices in Omaha's inner city Benson neighborhood was a place he would 'set a spell', use the phone, etc. before gathering his brooms and moving on down the steet. Very moving. What an excellent story of humility, diligence, perseverance and consistency. The Broom Man blessed others with countless opportunities to strengthen their own sense of humanity --- and I'm sure they didn't even know. Now he is at rest. Good for him!
