- So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
- I'm trying to obtain more information an event at the Vision Complex Theater. Is there a source for this? I'm familiar with Leimert Park, because I used to provide technical services for dancers, sound & video, including R'Wanda Lewis, and photography for Nzingha Camera, who had a dance studio in Leimert Park, along with Lady Walkura and Pat Taylor. I attended the re-opening of the Vision Theater, under Marla Gibbs. And, I more recently participated in the "L A Flashpoint" Tour, originating out of the L. A. Commons. I've enjoyed my times at Leimert Park!
- Who referred you?
- Bill Gardner, during his radio show on KPFK this Saturday, mentioned the showing of a film about Nina Simone, at the Vision Theater. But, I didn't catch the date! I recently completed a play, & dedicated it to Malcolm X and Nina Simone.
- Good times at:
- C A A M! Leimert Park! Central Avenue! The big event, once a year, at the big park on King Boulevard!
- Last song I heard or I sang:
- "Bring It Up" - James Brown. Great instrumentation, too! Get Down! .

- Retired, from the Aerospace Industry.
- My Leimert Park Secret:
- Years ago, when I took pictures at the Dance Studio, I only took a few pictures of the beautiful pictures, large paintings, mounted on the chain link fence which was around the big empty lot, north of the dance studio & book store, at the time. Then, the contractors threw out all of my photography when my house was refurbished! Ms. Camera possibly still has a beautiful, big picture that I took of her. Also (and this is years ago!) during an event in Leimert Park, there were posters for a performance by Bobby 'Blue' Bland. I later went to see him at a theater on Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
