Profile Information:

So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I m a lifelong resident of S. Los Angeles. I love the creative spirit of the Liermert Park area, from the Jazz clubs to the small shops along Liermert. I m a creative person myself who like to dialog with with intelligent creative people who share the love of our community and all that it represents. I m also a writer, photographer and lover of live jazz.

I m also a activist who believes that we should act towards making our community a better place to live as opposed to just talking about it. Talk is cheap but action is invaluable towards improving the quality of life in our community.

Ernie - I'm glad you're here! Have the flu today and my classes at school are a bit overwhelming and will be for the next two months - so it's great to see you are really getting the discussions going. Such a responsible online community. It takes a while, but people are talking. We are beating apathy!
  • Jonathan Arkin

Thank you, Ernie! I am grateful for the welcome...my peeps at USC have been intrigued by our reports from the community and have ventured out to discover its cultural jewels. I will definitely keep you posted. I'm on the Facebook as well.

Hey Ernie - thanks for the shout outs and the work that you selflessly do to talk about things our community, and every community, needs to hear.

You should also put your facebook badge on the LP Beat so people can easily friend you on FB.

And of course you know I'd love for you to post your Black history month articles and links on the blog.
  • Ernie Mixon

I think of you often Ernie - glad you're back. Leimert Park Beat is growing more and more like Leimert Park Village every day. I love that and I'm glad you're back from Vegas. If you're in the USC or Leimert area give me a holla. I'll buy. Eddie
