So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I m a lifelong resident of S. Los Angeles. I love the creative spirit of the Liermert Park area, from the Jazz clubs to the small shops along Liermert. I m a creative person myself who like to dialog with with intelligent creative people who share the love of our community and all that it represents. I m also a writer, photographer and lover of live jazz.
I m also a activist who believes that we should act towards making our community a better place to live as opposed to just talking about it. Talk is cheap but action is invaluable towards improving the quality of life in our community.

Hi,
Thanks for looking at my site. I did a TV Pilot and a Commercial two weeks ago. I was out of the business for many years, now I'm getting back into it.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome..... It is wonderful to be connected with other people with similar interests. I look forward to meeting you and networking with other creative people.
I can't remember if I responded but thanks for the warm welcome. I haven't been tending to my page here as regularly as I'd like so if all else fails, follow me on my womanfrommycountryTM fan page on FB. Thank you Ernie!
Beautiful children ,beautiful pictures Ernie.I hope to see you at Leimert park.I have seen you before. Thanks again for inviting me as your friend.
Blessed Love
check me on Facebook brother man. My site is "Leimert Park". I was surprise that no else was using the name so I jumped at the chance. You and I are on the same battle field, look at our skin color.
Ernie - I'm glad you're here! Have the flu today and my classes at school are a bit overwhelming and will be for the next two months - so it's great to see you are really getting the discussions going. Such a responsible online community. It takes a while, but people are talking. We are beating apathy!
Thank you, Ernie! I am grateful for the welcome...my peeps at USC have been intrigued by our reports from the community and have ventured out to discover its cultural jewels. I will definitely keep you posted. I'm on the Facebook as well.

The things I remember most about Crenshaw Blvd, Leimert Park, Maverick Flats, Magnificent Brother Barbershop, the Hamburger Stand, Crusing on Friday and Saturday Night. Seems like yesterday my brotha life was so good. Keep it alive!!!
Apologies for absence. I was not able to access this site for months... finally tech support figured out the problem! Good to be back!
Blessings to you!
How are you?
Great minds think alike bro... :) .... I've done the same thing with the Jazz Greats .. check me out... make sure you take a look at my links on the right side of the blog... I think you will like it.... do you have a link to yours?
Eric .. BTW ... I took the liberty of posting your brillant essay on Obama going after Bush for war crimes... one of my friends ... Gwen Woods agreed and posted a long reply... check it out on my profile whe you get a chance.
I think of you often Ernie - glad you're back. Leimert Park Beat is growing more and more like Leimert Park Village every day. I love that and I'm glad you're back from Vegas. If you're in the USC or Leimert area give me a holla. I'll buy. Eddie

I've done a series of these Jazz portraits. I'll be posting others in the near furture, maybe Dexter Gordon and Jackie McLean.
I'm glad you can appreciate them. Too mny of us are forgetting, or were never aware of, our roots.
