Listen on PASSIONEER MAGAZINE THE PODCAST

In the prime of her career in Silicon Valley, Paula Echeverri was on the cusp of launching a new startup when life threw her an unforeseen curveball. The birth of her second daughter coincided with a sudden loss of hearing, thrusting her into a world of silence. Despite the physical and mental challenges, Paula’s spirit remained unbroken. She detailed her experience in the best-selling book “Emerge,” sharing her path through adversity and how she navigated a new reality.

“Life’s lessons,” Paula notes, “are not meant to break us, but to awaken us to new paths.” Her resilience in the face of deafness and subsequent mental health struggles exemplifies the profound impact of challenges as catalysts for transformation. Drawing from renowned neuroscientists’ insights, Paula advocates that obstacles can pave the way for positive change if approached with the right mindset.

Paula’s journey towards empowerment took her down the path of self-discovery and academic pursuit. She delved into the depths of neuroscience, learning about brainwaves and somatic work that can lead to holistic healing. Armed with knowledge, she overcame anxiety and panic attacks that had gripped her, advocating that true healing stems from understanding the root causes of mental illness as she did.

She now works as a speaker, and writer of her 4th new book Emerge with Self Love with 12 amazing co-authors and also in her new startup Synapfitness which helps women in many stages to take care of their mind and body.
