"A benefit concert in support of the World Stage will take place on Saturday, February 22, at 9:00 p.m. featuring Alex Cline's Limitless Light Ensemble performing arrangements of selected music by the late great Shaku Joseph Jarman (w/ whom Cline played in 2003 in a trio w/ bassist Henry Grimes). The ensemble consists of Dwight Trible (voice), Phillip Greenlief (alto & tenor saxophones), Pablo Calogero (tenor & soprano saxophones, bass clarinet, alto flute), Miguel Atwood Ferguson (electric 5-string violin), G.E. Stinson (electric guitar), George Abe (bamboo flutes, percussion), Lisa Mezzacappa (bass), Christopher Garcia (percussion), & Alex Cline (drums, percussion). The ensemble was assembled in order to pay tribute to this great artist, a founding member of both Chicago's A.A.C.M. & its most famous group, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, & his wonderful & meaningful musical legacy. Its memorable maiden voyage took place last summer before a large & appreciative audience at the Hammer Museum as part of its JazzPOP series." - GE Stinson
