The California African American Museum’s (CAAM) Target stage is moving to Expo Center at the CicLAvia Expo Park hub of activity on Sunday, December 7, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. CAAM is partnering once again with CicLAvia and ASCAP, along with Expo Center in celebration of their 10th Anniversary.
CicLAvia is a neighborhood celebration that closes city streets to cars encouraging people to walk, skate, or bike along a mapped route. This will be the first time CicLAvia's route will journey through South Los Angeles.
The Target stage will be co-hosted by actor Jeffrey Anderson-Gunter and comedian D'Lai (pronounced “Dee-Lay”). CAAM will also take a moment to pay respects on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
Comedian D’Lai is a rising star in stand-up comedy. D’Lai has opened for comedy heavyweight George Wallace and the legendary Dick Gregory. Currently, he is working on various projects while touring nationally with “Bill Bellamy’s Ladies Night Out Tour” as well as promoting the comedy special/docu-film “Bill Bellamy’s Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour,” which premiered last year on Showtime Networks.
The program will include talented singers from ASCAP performing with CAAM’s house band, The Komposers.. Performers include vocalist and songwriter Choklate Moore; spoken word artist EVRYWHR; classically-tained pianist Lydia René; vocalist Anthony Lewis; and rapper Tish.
Exposition Park is located at 700 Exposition Park Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90037. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is located at Bill Robertson Lane in Lot 2, for $10 per vehicle.
