11:00 A.M. - MUSEUM GALLERIES OPEN
Spotlight Exhibition of the Month: “Things That Cannot Be Seen Any Other Way: The Art of Manuel Mendive”
12:00 P.M. - THE COMMUNITY ART PROJECT – An art project guided each month by local professional artist and educator Teresa Tolliver.
DJ N’NAMDI–ongoing. Brings his special touch throughout the program
1:00 P.M. - WELCOME / GREETING
CAAM Executive Director, CHARMAINE JEFFERSON, welcomes the audience, along with co-hosts, singer SONIA SANTOS and actor JEFFREY ANDERSON-GUNTER.
1:10 P.M. - NELSON JIMENEZ - Returning to CAAM after several appearances, Nelson is a powerhouse for such a young singer of 14. He has won many local awards and recently appeared on “The Voice” program for youth competition.
1:30 P.M. - CALIFORNIA DANCE INSTITUTE – Led by founder and director, Carole Valleskey, the California Dance Institute (CDI) is an in-school and after-school arts education program that teaches life and learning skills through dance and music to underserved public elementary and middle school students in the Los Angeles area. CDI's mission is to instill confidence, discipline, and focus through the joys and rigor of dance.
1:50 P.M. - ROGELIO MITCHELL – Born in Colon, Panama, surrounded by the deep roots of West Indian music, Rogelio’s music has a unique blend of Calypso, Reggae, Soca and Jazz. Living in Argentina, Chile and now in Santa Barbara, he has opened concerts for Ronnie Specter and Tania Maria among others and recently appeared in the Andy Davis' film Steal Big, Steal Little with Andy Garcia.
2:10 P.M. - TRIO ELLAS – Trio Ellas is an all female power trio making music somewhere between traditional mariachi and classic romantic trio with a fresh contemporary twist. Trio Ellas members are Suemy Gonzalez, Nelly Cortez and Stephanie Amaro, Their high level of musical proficiency has allowed them to circumvent stereotypes and work at a world class level. Trio Ellas have lent their skill to recordings for artists such as Ben Gibbard and Lady GaGa, and have performed live with a myriad of artists ranging from Cristian Castro to Mariachi El Bronx.

2:45 P.M. - BOBBY MATOS AND HIS AFRO-LATIN JAZZ GROUP – New York born and bred, percussionist, composer/arranger and bandleader, Mr. Matos has dedicated his life to playing and spreading the best Afro-Latin Jazz. He is a veteran of many tours and recordings and has played with such stars as Bobby Hutcherson, Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Miriam Makeeba, Larry Harlow, Celia Cruz and others. His recordings on the LifeForce Jazz label are in stores and online and they feature a wide range of Latin jazz sounds. Look for his latest recording, "Beautiful as the Moon."
