Shuttlepalooza: Official Leimert Park Beat Shuttle Viewing Guide

The Space Shuttle Endeavour will be rolling through Leimert Park Saturday from about 10 a.m. to 6  p.m. on its way to the California Science Center in Exposition Park.

Sometime around 1 p.m., the greatest creation of man will be sitting in front of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza as the Debbie Allen dancers do their thing. There is a dedicated area for the public to stand and view the stage, north on Crenshaw Blvd. from MLK.

Many of the sidewalks will be closed and some streets along the way. But according to KABC the sidewalks from 46th to Vernon on Crenshaw will be open for viewing.

I'll be watching where Leimert Boulevard turns into MLK Blvd. - there's a lot of space there and a 7-11.

According to the California Science Center Facebook page: BEST OFFICIAL VIEWING SITE: @ExpositionPark after 6:30p. Viewing site walk-in entrance: Vermont+39th. Gates open 5:30p. Ride @ExpoLine!

Around 8:30 p.m., Endeavour will reach its final destination where there are four large parking lots dedicated for public viewing.

LOL!  Well, for sure that schedule didn't work at all.  King/Crenshaw was full of Endeavour until nearly 5 a.m.!  But what a wonder it was to have her in our back yard.  Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza was a great host.  Everyone seems to have gotten such great photos and I hope to go through them all eventually so I can relive the day over and over and over again.  :)
