When you walk, bike and drive around Leimert Park you can't help but get in the spirit of the season.
The Poinsettia Project was started in 2007 as a way to beautify the Leimert Park community for the holiday season and to support our wonderful shops, restaurants and entertainment venues, according to Leimert Park resident and LPB member Robert Rubio. (photos below courtesy of Robert!)
With support from the Empowerment Congress West Neighborhood Development Council, The Leimert Park Village Merchants Association, The Leimert/Crenshaw Business Improvement District, the Eighth District office, and the SAVE LEIMERT! Neighborhood Coalition, The Poinsettia Project has become an annual event.
Volunteers planted hundreds of poinsettias throughout the community, in parkways, hanging from street lamps and in front of our beautiful brick community gateways.
This year also included the Baldwin Vista neighborhood gateway along Rodeo Road. Thanks to Robert and all the other good souls for all they do to beautify Leimert Park.
