We are expecting a large turnout for the Leimert Park Celebration of Barbara's Life. To relieve traffic congestion, please consider parking at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall, 3650 W Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90008, about a 15-minute walk away.

Between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, this Saturday, March 26, 2022, a Public Viewing will be held at The Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship, 2085 S Hobart Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90018, Parking is limited, so prepare for patience.

Starting at 2:00 PM, this Saturday, March 26, 2022, following the public viewing, a Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held in Leimert Park, in, and around The Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center, featuring live music, eulogies, hugs, tears and laughter. 4305 Degnan Blvd #101, Los Angeles, CA 90008. When Barbara was in the hospital, expecting to recover, I promised her she wouldn't have to worry about her expenses. We started a GoFundMe page, with the goal of covering her expenses until she was back on her feet. Barbara's family are supportive of the site, and rooting for it. That page has raised over $30,000. Sadly, the purpose of the campaign has changed to covering Barbara's funeral and estate expenses, which are now estimated will be around $40,000. We recognize the fact that the financial goal keeps increasing can look fishy. It is changing, only as unanticipated expenses surface. This includes all the expenses involved with putting her to rest (the public viewing and Celebration of Life, for example), and settling her affairs. Another example is that a law firm is helping to determine royalties owed to Barbara, and that might now flow to her siblings. Not a dollar of the GoFundMe campaign will go toward any expense not directly related to taking care of Barbara, her memory, her legacy and her family.
