Hello LPB, I went to a meeting with Empowerment Congress, that discussed the status if businesses in the 2nd District. Coincidentally, they also brought up the upcoming meeting with the MTA regarding the light rail construction down the center or Crenshaw.
The plan is to widen Crenshaw, remove the trees and close off access of some of the intersections between Exposition and Slauson Ave. This will cause traffic nightmares in our community as well as the ability to access your neighborhood from Crenshaw. Empowerment Congress wants everyone to come out to voice their opinion regarding the matter. Their proposal is to have the Crenshaw line run underground with a station here on Vernon where EL Pollo Loco is currently and I think 48th Street. At first I was reluctant to agree with the costruction, but after hearing the alternative, I am in favor with the underground light rail.
Do we want Crenshaw torn up from Exposition to Slauson and have the light rail running down the middle?
