Well,  five years later..... lol  our youth group Green Panthers  (see twitter @greenpantherx & greenpantherx.com) South L.A. group have had the following successes:

1.  Created the 1st Sustainable off grid Solar & Wind Powered Record Label in the U.S. and are distributed commercially worldwide, having been picked up in both US and UK.

2.  With Warrior DJ's (wycleff Jean) created the 1st Solar Powered DJ Coalition in the world

3.  Created two Clean Energy Start ups www.gpowersystems.com & www.powerofgreenworld.org with major clients added this year

4.  Created a U.S. Inner City Green Tour  www.greenpantherworld.org

5.  Are solar powering part of the U.S. Department of Energy's  www.solardecathlon.com, as well as, Earthfest L.A., created by Calworks, a local green org right in Leimert Park!

6.  Have created and expanded the coalition of Green Panthers to include Black & Brown Panther U.S. and many of Hip Hop Nationwide in on-going efforts to put Green Curriculum Inner City & use green power as part of their performance and recording

7.  Have been hired as artists and performers (solar powered) at some of the biggest festivals in the U.S.

8.  Have consistently built free energy for those in need and without electricity as volunteers

and the list goes on..... there is more to do but stay abreast of this amazing team effort (yes, us oldies are still behind it, but we expect to be out completely by next year!)

We always need more volunteers and if you are a hip hop artist, you should check in with them.

They, as our youngest members,  fought hard and well for over 5 years to improve African American Leadership in both Environmental movement & Clean Energy Industry.  Green Panthers base groups are now located in L.A., Oakland, Detroit, Pittsburgh and New York, as well as London, UK.

We hope to continue this effort and make our people proud. GREEN PANTHER VOW:  We will not comprise the movement by allowing any factions to disseminate or actively inhibit our Urban Communities from flourishing. And will contribute to our community's advancement, putting our people before ourselves.  We will bring light to our hoods!
