Post & Beam's facebook now says the soft opening with a limited menu is Saturday (NYE) in Leimert Park from 6 to 11!
---
According to Post and Beam's Facebook page and an article by Urban Daddy, Leimert Park's newest restaurant is finally supposed to open "around" January 3.
After the Urban Daddy report, Post and Beam highlight the ambiguous opening date by posting on their Facebook, " Pssst, you hear we have a soft opening date?"
Apparently they want you to know, but not really. Of course we've been hearing about an opening for about a year, so the cloak and dagger stuff can get old. Can't wait to see if it's worth the wait.

YAY Yvonne - thanks for the review and update. Very exciting - and what a scoop - Indian food coming to the mall!
On another note... We went to a matinee at the mall and got out in time for dinner. Post & Beam, alas, not open for real yet and the idea of Sbarro was so not appetizing. We drove down Crenshaw, decided Pollo Loco wasn't going to work either so we turned into Leimert Village. I noticed that 5 other cars also turned into the Village at the same time we did. We all turned into complete vacancy. The World Stage was dark, too.
As the weather gets better, maybe someone can organize a food truck night or two to get something going. At this rate, the Village isn't creating a reason to possess a subway stop.
My husband & I went to Post and Beam for the soft opening. I was half-expecting jittery service and a slow kitchen. Govind Armstrong was visibly behind the stove, manning the pans. Everything went seamlessly. and it was like being in Culver City. The space is comfortable. The patrons were a fabulous mix of ages.
The pizza was delicious (limited menu and I was intrigued to compare the wood-oven pizza to Pit Fire and Waterloo & City, which more than passed the comparison). The hard opening was today (1/3). Let's see... Fantastic picture, sound (and audience) at the RAVE Extreme *and* a fantastic restaurant, all within a 5 minute drive of my house? (Indian food inside the mall coming soon, too!) My neighborhood just got crazy better.
