Image may contain: 1 person, indoor "we jus' heard Phil Ranelin, soloing on the trombone, there on his tune, Past Memories. He's got several versions of this tune. He's always fine tune'n-it, sort-of-speak over-the-yrs.. This 1 from the 80s, mid-80s, 1985 i think on this 1. It's from the album called Love Dream, on the Rebirth record label (w/ honorable sentimental personnel: Ralph Penland, Tony Dumas & Billy Childs...)
Inline image "Phil Ranelin is actually going 2b opennin'-up @ TWS "Winter Jazz Concert Series" Fri. Jan. 11th. So, that's not this comin' Fri. but the followin' Fri.. It's gon'na b a tribute, to two other great trombonist, Melba Liston & J.J. Johnson. And it's gon'na b called "Bonified". So, that's gon'na b a nice quartet situation w/ Mahesh Balasooriya on piano, Michael Alvidres on bass, Don Littleton on the drums. So, put-it-on-the calendar, Jan. 11th. Not this Fri. but the followin' Fri. @ The World Stage 4321 Degnan Bl., in beautiful Leimert Park. U can find more info @ http://www.theworldstage.org."
