ABOUT MANHOOD CAMP
Manhood Camp, co-operated by Leimert Park resident Mark Winkler, is a 12 week mentoring program that focuses on empowering At-Risk youth towards safe and productive behavior. Our program’s aim is to impart four main principles: 1. Self-Awareness, 2. Self-Empowerment, 3. Personal-Responsibility and 4. Social-Responsibility. The program is broken down into ten separate classes conducted over a ten week period. Each class is structured to allow both instruction and maximum student participation (Please visit our website - http://www.manhoodcamp.org - to see our class itinerary). The classes are designed to help the students grasp the meaning of each above mentioned principle and help give practical ways to successfully implement these core concepts into their everyday lives. In addition to class instruction, there are field trips. These trips are carefully planned to allow the students the opportunity to enjoy time away from the structured class environment and to expose them to a variety of positive experiences. OUR CAMPAIGN
We are seeking funding to secure our 501c3 tax exempt status in order to expand our efforts. We believe that many people would like to help support the efforts of organizations like Manhood Camp. We also are acutely aware of the challenging economic times that abound. One of the benefits of supporting a worthwhile cause, under a tax exempt status, is the ability to take a federal income tax deduction. Having the ability to give monies to a "self-help" program such as Manhood Camp and then have the opportunity to later partially deduct that support is a win-win scenario. We believe that every youth, regardless of their race or social background, deserves a fair chance at having a productive and happy life. Manhood Camp is an organization that is dedicated to helping our youth toward that meaningful goal. Your generous contribution will greatly support this effort.
