Join LA Green Grounds on Saturday, May 12 for a Dig-In - that's where a group of volunteers, neighbors, friends and family works with a master gardener to design and build a garden in a front or back yard.
The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and the transformation should take around six hours.
LA Green Grounds was featured in the LA Times by columnist Steve Lopez last year. And one of the leaders is a new friend, Craig Dietrich. The USC Cinematic Arts professor is always trying to make a difference in our community. In addition to being on the neighborhood council with me, Craig was involved with Occupy LA and fights for renters' rights.
Your lawn could the the next one to be turned into an edible garden.
