Closure at Crenshaw Boulevard between Exposition Boulevard and Coliseum Street extended three weeks

Redondo Boulevard at Florence Avenue to permanently close beginning May 1

Due to unforeseen soil conditions, Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) has extended the current closure on Crenshaw Boulevard between Exposition Boulevard and Coliseum Street for the next three weeks to continue excavation and installation of jet-grout panels for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project underground station.
Crenshaw Boulevard is scheduled to reopen at 6 a.m. on May 10, 2015.
Jet grouting is a follow-on element of work that supplements the Cutting Soil Mix (CSM) perimeter wall system where utilities penetrated the CSM wall so steel piles could not be installed, therefore the jet grouting will patch these locations along the CSM wall.
Traffic and Metro bus service in the area will continue to be detoured. Signs posted will continue to indicate detouring, also pedestrian access will be keep outside immediate closure area. Metro Expo Line train service will continue normal schedule.
Redondo Boulevard at Florence Avenue to close permanently on May 1
Redondo Boulevard at Florence Avenue will permanently close on May 1 in preparation of upcoming construction activities such as removal of the old tracks and installation of new rail track system. WSCC will install detour signs. West Boulevard has been identify as the alternate route for this closure.
Crenshaw Boulevard and 67th Street
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) began this week to relocate a water line on Crenshaw Boulevard and 67th Street. In order to do this work at least one traffic lane is maintained on each direction during working hours.
• Phase one: Closure of 67th Street from Crenshaw Boulevard to 11th Avenue, and two northbound lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard.
• Phase two: Reduction of two southbound lanes on Crenshaw Boulevard.
• Phase three: Reduction of one eastbound lane on 67th Street.
Work has been scheduled for the next three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday to Friday. Work will alternate between the two times.
The 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Line is a $2.058 billion light-rail line that will connect the Green Line and the Expo Line. It will have eight new stations to serve the Crenshaw, Inglewood and LAX communities. It is expected to open in 2019.
