On Thursday August 18, 2011 Councilmember Bernard C. Parks along with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa participated in a news conference at 903 W. 66th St. to view a recently completed refurbished home, purchased by the Alford family. The City invested under $200,000 to purchase and renovate with all of the state of the art energy and green features, such as solar panels, bamboo flooring, energy efficient appliances, fluorescent light fixtures and windows, tanklesswater heater, drought-tolerant landscaping and water conservation features. The property upon completion was sold for $172,000.00. The funds from the sale of this property will recycle back into the NSP program to assist in the purchase of additional properties for rehabilitation and sale.Download PDF Flyer
