I was at a friend's house for dinner and we were complaining about the gas and the war and the gloomy future and George Bush.
"I hope things change in November," I said. "I just donated to Barack Obama's campaign. It was my first political donation. And it was the first time ... there was ... someone I could believe in."
I was excited, but I don't know him too well. I assume everyone wants what's best for the country, but then I realize some people still like George Bush.
"ME, TOO," he said. "On both counts."
I only gave $20, but I wanted to show my support.
So many first time donaters/believers. Records show that more than 1.5 million people have donated to Obama’s primary campaign, and he has raised $121 million, or 47 percent of his total of $256 million in donations, from individuals in amounts of $200 or less. (

More than 442,000 people contributed to the campaign in March, with more than 218,000 of them giving for the first time. More than 385,000 people gave for the first time to Obama in February, when the campaign raised about $55 million (

Al Gore endorsed Barack today.
I just wrote Michelle Obama and told her to use the scene in a commercial. You could do the ad over and over, first with people that are like each other of any age and then with people seemingly different. AND IN EACH CASE IT"S TRUE.
And the painting of Obama? It's saintly - like the stylized patron saints newly canonized by the masses along the Mexican border. And how refreshing to see a politician posterized - one that's alive - instead of Michael Jordan or Heather Locklear.
The painting was at my new frame shop located inside a car wash on Crenshaw. Excellent service, low prices and you can get your car washed at the same time - NO OTHER FRAME SHOP CAN DO THAT. I'll do a whole write up later.
