I feel love in Leimert Park, what can I say. I moved here just over two years ago and was immediately embraced by my new neighbors. Now they are my friends. And that's why I created this site. I wanted that sense of community to grow in spite of the fact that most of us just don't have the time.
Technology can make coming together easier than ever, and if people participate, more rewarding. Notice that you can post to this column, add photos, ask questions and start discussions on the left hand column.
How about a tool exchange where we share the tools we only use once a year rather than having to buy one? Can someone tell me a handyman, painter and plumber they know and trust because I sure don't trust any of the one's that have come to my house? And what time does the jazz band start jamming at The Kitchen, that tiny two story restaurant on 43rd Street?
Tell us about everything your doing and want to do in your neighborhood, everything you know or want to know about your neighborhood. Be sassy. Be real. But be nice.
Let's work together, pull our resources on these little things. Who knows, one day knowing each other might come in handy for bigger issue.
So have a look around, post something, don't be afraid to get involved. Email me (enhager@yahoo.com) if you have questions or need help with the site. I need you're feedback to build a better machine. We're all learning together.
Maybe you are not in the LP neibghborhood. That's OK. We all have many of the same interests. Lemeirtpark.ning.com can still provide an online forum for you and your neighbors and when the times comes many voices are much louder than few.
