I'll be putting together a list by the end of the week, but I'd love to hear what moved you this year?
The Space Shuttle and the new trees? The Trayvon Martin vigil? The Expo Line? Four more years? There were a number of big and small events that occurred in the Soul of Los Angeles. Let's reflect on 2012. Photo by Kerry Roberts of 3710…

Earlier this year, we had two hummingbird nests and four babies in my Leimert Park…

I invite you to share your plans, memories and photos of this historic day for our neighborhood with your neighbors on Leimert Park Beat.
I am going to be riding my bike around the area between Sutro and Crenshaw / King and Vernon. Most of my time will be where Leimert Boulevard merges with King, just up the block for my house.
Where will you be?

Some one said the streets were already messed up (to put in new sewers and for resurfacing projects) and another said there was already too much construction (to bring the nearly billion dollar light rail to our neighborhood).
But it sounds like we are on the right path to get to see history and to save as many trees as…

Let me introduce to you one of the treasures of the Los Angeles community and part of the family of Leimert Park: Verbs.
This youngster has made quite an underground impact with his rhymes and his eclectic music tastes. I love his honest and often humorous takes on life in LA, taking public transportation, new found feelings of commitment and the challenges of growing up today, which he lays over smooth beats and sometimes a live band.
But I've gotten…
