As we have

begun to interview key players, we keep hearing "we are closer than ever to

redevelopming Marlton Square." Hopefully something is going on behind

the scenes.



If this is considered close, it means in the 20 years that this project

has been underway that the city was never close to making this a

success.

Leimert Park art walk Sunday, June 27 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.: Art, Music, Poetry, DJs, MCs, Culture, Drums ...

More than 350 Facebook friends have already RSVPd, a dozen artists, a dozen performers, a half dozen DJs have been booked.



All we're missing is you.



Come to this FREE all day event featuring Kaos Network, Cinefreestyle, the Vision, The World Theatre, EsoWon, Lucy Florence, young and old, new and established.



Art exhibits up and down the street at various open spaces and the Leimert Park Village Drum Circle.

Juneteenth 2010 Fills Leimert Park Village with Sounds of Freedom

Thousands celebrated on a beautiful summer Sunday - it was even the talk of Compton.

Leimert Park Village Book Fair starts the weekend off right: Saturday June 26; Leimert Park ArtWalk is Sunday

Leimert Park Village Book Fair -10 to 6, Saturday, June 26 at 43rd Street and Degnan is free and open to the public.

3D screeens and stadium style seating in new theater; but Magic Johnson closes Monday as a sign of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza renovation

Heard on KPCC this morning, the Magic Johnson Theater in Crenshaw Plaza was closing Monday! I talked to a couple of people who should have known and they didn't. So in case you don't know
