From Arlington to Crenshaw all the way down to Leimert Park the crowds were five people deep on both sides of the parade route as Los Angeles came out to celebrate the legacy of freedom and action left to us by one of the greatest Americans, Martin Luther King Jr.

The weather was perfect and so were the people. A video of the event is in the works!

Crime falls to historic lows in Leimert Park/Crenshaw Los Angeles

It was close but I think Los Angeles ended the year with less than 300 killings – something that hasn't happened since 1967, when the population was almost 30% smaller.

Imagine in 1992,  there were more than 3 homicides a day. In 2001 there were two every day. Last year there was less than one. (Great graphics from the LATimes.com below.)…

The feel of Christmas

The mall is packed

Sleigh bell sound

Surround

Children look in wonder

The decorations abound

Glee in their young faces

Cookie crumb and hot chocolate traces

Santa's helpers stationed for wrapping

Festive boxes, bags, with holiday tags

In the midst

Nat King Cole croons

St. Nick is on his way

It’s a magical, glorious, reflective day

Just days before

Angels are ready to soar

The heavens with Joy
