Notice to anyone who may have not had their personal property returned from the now defunct Lucy Florence Cultural Center and or the Lucy Florence Cafe. Your items may be in a storage locker here in Los Angeles which is coming up for auction Nov. 3, 2012.
Richard and Ron Harris moved on to Atlanta where they opened another Lucy Florence Cafe in Peachtree City, GA. They failed to pay a lot of rent and were forced to vacate allegedly taking with them about $15,000 in fixtures and furnishings that belonged to the landlord. They are also being held responsible for non-payment of catering and other bills they incurred from a number of individuals.
If you are a victim or know someone who is, please step forward and call this number, 786-512-1391. If you have pictures of any of your items and can bring them to the storage unit there is still a chance of recovery. I am working with victims in Atlanta to help see that justice is done.
The Tavis Smiley radio show is going to interview me about the Leimert Park Beat blog - a new way for communities to gather and get news. I'm taking the opportunity to bring them to Leimert Park.
I think that not only locals should shop in Leimert, but we need to let people in Carson and Pasadena that they should experience what we've got. And that when people in Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and Portland visit LA, Leimert Park is a must see of any trip. That's my message - and with an virtual community everyone can see what we have to offer.
Anyway I hopefully will bring them down to your shop between 1 and 2:30. Hope you can be there.
