So what brings you to Leimert Park Beat? Tell us a little bit about yourself.
L. Michael was born in New York City; relocated to Philadelphia, PA, completed Central High School; served in the 82nd Airborne- Rangers, during Korean Conflict; completed undergraduate studies for a B.A. in English at Cheyney State University, did graduate MBA studies at the George Washington Univ., in Washington,D.C: briefly taught high school English and later, was an Associate Professor in Business and Public Administration; awarded a Congressional Fellowship in 1968, served as Ombudsman and Special Assistant to a Governor before relocating to Southern California to ski, play golf and raise horses. His passions are communications – Training and development, public speaking - is a Distinguished Toastmaster - writing, photography, golf and travel are favorite pastimes; enjoyed successful careers in government, education and private industry as an administrator; is a 25 year follower of the Nicherin Daishonin Buddhist Sect (SGI-USA); is a dedicated advocate for youth development through involvement with the American Legion Department of California and the International Kiwanis organizations. “I believe the sure path to World Peace, is through art, culture and education. We must each and all become citizens of the world to make World Peace work. We each must take responsibility and make World Peace our life’s work!”
