This type of silly thinking leads to the destruction of the black family and serious dire consequences to black women and men's relationships. It's beautiful for a woman to be self sufficient in her ability to supply her needs and the needs of her children... but really... how does that translate that you don't need no man? This silly thinking is giving rise to increased lesbians and straight up man haters out there.

I m here standing up as a strong black man, stating that women need men and men need women!.. Yea i said it, and believe it with my heart and soul and I have history and strong religious training and backgroud to back up this true statement. I will say, that as a result of negative forces in society i.e. high morality stats of young black men being killed, in prison, caught up in negative street life, on the downlow or straight up homosexuals, there is shortage of good black men out there.. but they do exist. What do you as a blackwoman have to do to attract one. First and foremost you must be a good black woman worthy of having a good man!... I could write an entire essay on that alone., but I'll let that statement stand.

So, in closing, I'll state... "Yes you need a good man in your life!... do everything within your life to make sure that when one comes along... your ready and eligible to have him!" Let's begin to have correct thinking and put the bullshit to the side. We are in troubled times in America... Let's get our act together blackmen and women! By creating strong black families for our futrue and the future of our children!

....but isn't that the trick. Finding a good man. It's a tough market - check the statistics. Maybe "I don't need no Man" means I don't need the losers I seem to be attracting.
Very insightful, but, i think it lacks two things, with the first being that I've seen for a lot of younger black men they have a warped sense of what a strong black man is, or what just being a MAN is really all about!!! It probably came from some off the wall relationship they were part of through his mother's action or from the only male figure that took time to give him some type of attention. In my own wandering through this life I have had the honor to be involved with two males that were not my own and instilled in them ( and a few of their friends ) ideals that at the time were so foreign to them that they were made fun of amongst their piers, but, 10yrs. later, the oldest one is in afar better position as far as career, lifestyle and as he says " baby momma drama" issues. Now my child and the youngest are seeing that the idea of just having a dick doesn't make you a man, but, how you treat people and carry yourself define you as a man. The second thing missing from this article is for you to mix in some spell check my brother... LMBO!!! Very nice article. Peace
I appreciate this feedback. Thanks for taking the time.

The article was not intended to define what a good man was? but rather why it's important for men and women to form loving relationships in society and why women should understand the importance of having a good man in their life. I hear I don't no need no man auguments from many women who are hurt about past relationships and get turned off to men for those reasons? I m fully aware that just having a D___ as you say is no justification for manhood... I really don't know where your going with that one?? ... I'll check the spelling a little more carefully next time, the just of what I m attempting to say is very clear to most.
